Quick answer

Domino’s has no single Christmas schedule. Christmas Day availability is decided store by store — plan on your store being closed until it confirms otherwise. Christmas Eve is the safer bet, but many stores close early.

Christmas 2026 falls on a Friday. As of November 4, 2026, we could not find a chain-wide Domino’s holiday schedule for this year, so anything promising exact hours for every store should be treated with suspicion.

Search “is Domino’s open on Christmas” and you will find pages saying yes, pages saying no, and pages listing exact hours for the whole country. They cannot all be right, and the reason they disagree is simple: there is no national answer. This guide sets out what Domino’s has actually said about Christmas availability, what to expect on each day, and how to get a definite answer for your own store in about two minutes.

What Domino’s says about Christmas hours

The company’s position has been consistent whenever reporters have asked. A Domino’s spokesperson told CBS News that the chain does not require stores to stay open on Christmas Day and pointed customers to the website for local hours. Another told Newsweek that stores “are not mandated to be open on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day”, noting that most US stores are franchise-owned.

Stores “decide on the holiday hours for each of their stores based on what works for their store teams and local communities.”

— Domino’s spokesperson, quoted by Good Housekeeping, 2022

That is why a store two miles from you can be open while yours is dark. The owner of each store weighs staffing against local demand and makes the call, and it can change from one year to the next — so last year’s experience is a clue, not a promise.

Domino’s Christmas availability, day by day

This is the pattern to plan around for 2026. It is a guide to what is likely, not the hours of any particular store.

Thu, Dec 24

Christmas Eve

Usually open, shorter hours

Reports generally describe stores opening but closing early. One store’s holiday notice listed an 8pm close; yours may differ. Order before dinnertime.

Fri, Dec 25

Christmas Day

Varies — assume closed

The owner’s decision. Some stores open with reduced hours and many do not. Confirm with your store before you count on it.

Sat, Dec 26

Day after Christmas

Expect a return to normal

Most stores should be back to regular hours, though a late opening is possible. A busy night if everyone is tired of leftovers.

What about closing time?

Even when a store is open, the posted closing time is not your deadline. Delivery usually stops about thirty minutes earlier, because the driver has to get back before the store shuts, while carryout tends to run later. A store closing at 8pm on Christmas Eve may stop taking delivery orders around 7:30pm. Our hours and last-order guide has a table for every closing time.

How to check your store’s Christmas hours

This takes about two minutes, and the order matters: start with the sources closest to the store.

  1. Enter your address on the official site or app. Open dominos.com or the Domino’s app and enter your delivery address. This shows the store that actually serves you, which is not always the nearest one — here is why.
  2. Look at that store’s hours for the date itself. Check again in the days before Christmas, because holiday changes may not appear weeks ahead.
  3. Check delivery and carryout separately. A store can be open for carryout after delivery has stopped. If delivery is unavailable, switch to carryout before you give up.
  4. Call the store. It is the only answer guaranteed to be current. Ask three things: are you open on the 25th, what time do you stop taking orders, and are you delivering to my address?
  5. Do not rely on a search listing alone. Map and search results are handy, but they can lag behind one-off holiday changes.

Best time to ask: call on December 22 or 23, during a quiet part of the afternoon. By then most stores should have their staffing settled, and you still have time to change your plans.

What changes when a store does open

Holiday availability is not only about whether the doors are open. Four things are worth expecting on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:

  • Fewer drivers, longer waits. A store running with a smaller team can take longer per order, and with few other restaurants open, demand can land on the stores that are. Order earlier than you normally would.
  • Smaller delivery areas. With fewer drivers on, a store may limit how far it delivers. Carryout gets around that, and it also skips the fee and tip — here is what that saves.
  • Different deals. Franchisees opt into promotions one by one, so check your own store’s deals page rather than assuming an advertised offer applies. Our coupons and deals guide explains the offer types.
  • Tipping matters more. Whoever brings your food is working Christmas. If you can, tip above your usual amount — our tipping guide gives a sensible baseline.

If your Domino’s is closed on Christmas

The most reliable plan is not to need the store on the 25th at all. Order on Christmas Eve, while it is still open, and reheat the next day. Pizza holds up well: refrigerate it within two hours, then reheat slices on a baking sheet or in a dry skillet rather than the microwave, so the base crisps instead of going soft. US food-safety guidance is to eat cooked leftovers within three to four days.

What a Christmas Eve order costs

Here is what three common orders came to at the menu prices we checked at a Domino’s in Columbus, Ohio, on October 25, 2026. They are before tax and any fees, and your store’s prices may differ.

ForThe orderMenu total
2–3 people1 large specialty pizza, 16 Bread Bites$25.98
4–5 people2 large specialty pizzas, 16 Bread Bites, 2-liter soda$50.46
8 people3 large specialty pizzas, 2 orders of Bread Bites, 2 × 2-liter soda, Lava Cake Flight$90.92

Swap specialty pizzas ($19.99) for large cheese ($13.99) and each pizza costs $6 less. Planning on three slices per adult when pizza is the whole meal, three large pizzas give eight people 24 slices. For bigger gatherings, our group ordering guide works through the numbers, and the full menu lists every item.

Other options on the day

If you only find out on the day, try the next-nearest Domino’s for carryout — being outside its delivery area does not stop you collecting. After that, search for independent pizzerias and restaurants near you and call before driving, since Christmas hours are just as uneven elsewhere. Other pizza chains are also largely franchised, so the same advice applies: check the specific store. It is also worth having a frozen pizza at home as insurance, bought before the 24th, as many supermarkets close or shorten hours for the holiday.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the store. Domino's has said it does not require stores to open on Christmas Day, and franchise owners decide for themselves. Some stores may open with reduced hours, but plan on yours being closed until the store confirms otherwise.
