The supreme exists to end arguments. Pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms means nobody at the table gets exactly what they wanted and nobody objects strongly enough to say so. As a group-ordering strategy it works, and it is worth understanding why it is priced the way it is.

What you are actually getting

Five or six toppings for a fixed specialty price. Ordered individually as modifications on a build-your-own, that same combination would usually cost more, which is the entire commercial logic of the specialty section: it is a pre-bundled topping discount.

Where it fits on value

Good value at full menu price, worse value inside a bundle. Many mix-and-match offers restrict you to a limited number of toppings and add a surcharge for specialty pizzas, so the supreme that looked like a bargain on the main menu can quietly become the most expensive item in your basket. Price it both ways before you commit.

Ordering notes

This is a wet pizza. Peppers, onions and mushrooms all release water as they cook, and on a thin crust the centre can struggle to hold up. If you want a supreme on thin crust, ask for it well done. On hand-tossed it is less of a concern.

If two people at the table object to one specific topping, remember that removing a topping from a specialty pizza is free at most stores while adding one is not. Subtracting is the cheaper way to customise.

A shared pizza kitchen cannot rule out cross-contact. If you have a severe allergy or coeliac disease, speak to the store directly and treat this list as a starting point rather than a guarantee. See our gluten-free guide for why that distinction matters.

Frequently asked questions

Almost always, on the standard menu. Specialty pizzas are priced as a package and undercut the sum of individual topping charges. That advantage can reverse inside a bundle that surcharges specialty pizzas.
