How the pricing works
Unlike thin crust, pan frequently carries an upcharge — a dollar or two above the hand-tossed price, and sometimes it is unavailable in the largest size because pans come in fixed dimensions. Both facts are easy to miss and both affect whether a deal applies to it.
Where it fits on value
Poor value inside a deal, because the upcharge is applied on top of the deal price at most stores and eats into the saving. Reasonable value at full menu price if pan is specifically what you want, since the extra dough genuinely is more food.
Ordering notes
It is the best crust on the menu for leftovers. The oil in the base protects it overnight in a way that thin crust cannot manage, and a reheated pan slice in a hot oven is genuinely good rather than merely acceptable.
It is also the highest-calorie crust by a clear margin. If you are watching that, the same toppings on hand tossed cost you nothing extra and save a noticeable amount per slice.
